My Photographic
Work
Even before I got my first job as a writer, I had a passion for photography.
I experimented with a lot of alternative processes, and about ten years ago I developed a way to photograph through liquids. Since then my still work has almost exclusively been photographs taken through liquids that are relevant to the subject –– emotionally, philosophically, or culturally.
I’ve photographed Portland through Oregon pinot noir, Turkey through Turkish coffee, the American south through Luzianne ice tea, Montreal through maple syrup, Portugal through 20-year-old tawny port, and a bunch of other places through a bunch of other liquids.
My work has been shown in galleries on three continents and has won a handful of prestigious awards. In 2006 I was named Photographer of the Year by the International Color Awards for my body of work.
Here are some examples of the work. If you’d like to see more, call my photography rep, Michael Muratore.
